As we go through Philippians, we simply get more and more gospel clarity to stand on over and over. However, the question remains, where does this all take us? In our text, we learn that the finished work of Christ does not mean that we have somehow practically arrived and are not still in everyday need of Christ. So, to the person wondering what does the gospel mean and what does it look like, our text gives us some needed clarity on this. (Php 3:12-16)

Having heard so clearly in our previous messages about what is most essential for having Christian security, we now begin to see where that takes us. In our passage we learn that being saved by what Someone else does irrespective of anything we do, enables us to have the ability to simply be about that same Someone who saved us. We are saved outside of ourselves simply to enjoy the One who saved us. There is nothing higher and nothing greater than to seek to know and enjoy the Christ, who saved us all by Himself, as our grand Christian agenda. (Php 3:10-11)

In the Christian world we all know that we are to be concerned about sin and evil. However, there is something that is often overlooked as being a danger in the church and that is nothing less than confidence in our best works. In our passage we see the need in the Christian life to practice repentance and renouncement of the best things that we could ever do past, present and future as we often make them replacements for Jesus's goodness. Come listen and learn about having a stability in Christ that renounces any credentials that you may have in yourself in any way. (Php 3:4-9)
